In light of Mental Health Awareness Month, our Fortnighters came together and set a task to walk/run a combined 600 miles for the month of May (we actually started on 13th May but we do love a challenge). For every 3 miles the team covers, we’d donate a pound to the Mental Health Foundation, to help tackle loneliness and the struggles many of us face.
After a steady start half-way through the month, the team not only reached 600 miles, but smashed that target with a final total of 832 miles!
A special mention goes out to one of our new starters, Liam Gill, a Product Designer, contributed with over 25% of the team’s mileage. His 231 miles is the equivalent of him walking from his home in Leeds to the office in London, with 40 miles to spare!
Stephanie Cox, HR and Culture Manager ensured the team stayed on track throughout the month and was impressed by the outcome:
Working from home during the pandemic has seen Mental Health cases rocket around the World, and we are always looking for new ways to combat loneliness whilst developing a fun and engaging culture. I would like to say a big thank you to the whole team for participating in the challenge; watch this space for the next..”
Fortnight has donated £278 to Mental Health Foundation and will continue to champion Mental Health throughout the year and beyond.
